Final day of the 10 Day Crochet Pattern Sale and Recap
It's amazing how much we all crochet and yet most of us rarely keep what we make for ourselves. It's the talent that keeps on giving. This past few years, I've finally told myself that it IS ok to keep something for myself. I have my Basket Weave Chevron blanket that I use daily and several others that I've put away for future use. It's nice to be able to enjoy my own work and because I've given so much away, I don't even feel guilty!
I hope that you are able to take at least one one of the crochet projects you're working on this holiday season and keep it for yourself. It really IS ok for you to enjoy your work too.
I want to let you all know how much I appreciate you. The past 7 years of designing and selling my crochet patterns allowed me to stay home with my girls while they were toddlers. I didn't become a "BIG" designer and I didn't get rich by any means. What was earned from crochet pattern sales helped cover all the costs of my website, supplies and helped buy diapers, formula and some groceries here and there. It was exactly what my family needed to help us through those years and I'm thankful for all of you who visited my blog, shared my sales or purchased even just 1 pattern. Being able to get to know many of you through crochet has been wonderful and I love seeing your projects. If I ever had a chance to meet you, I'd give you a hug, tell you how amazing and strong you are and cheer you on in life. You are the very best you that there is!

Every year at this time I wonder what I can crochet to give as gifts for various people. For a few years, I let my girls give each of their teachers an afghan that I'd designed. With 3 girls in elementary school now, I'm not able to do that. I try to design blankets with a specific person in mind and haven't had time to create or even duplicate enough blankets to give. I love Bath and Body Works which would be a nice option except my girls say their teachers always get a ton of that for Christmas. So, this year, I'm planning on making them some towels with crocheted tops along with a handmade treat. It's something that can be used throughout the year and some good old fashioned homemade candy is always a plus.
Day 10 is all about being warm and cozy with crochet
You know I'm all about warm and cozy when it comes to crochet. I love to snuggle up in blankets year round. I have made so many blankets that I finally lost count. They're great to place over a couch or chair to add color or texture to any room. I've heard so many people say they never make blankets because they take to long yet I've seen the same people crochet large towels, shawls and wraps and I just have to chuckle to myself (you've just made a blanket ?).
Many crocheters like to have a simple repeat so they can mindlessly crochet while watching tv. Others get bored with simple repeats and need a pattern that changes things up often. I'm somewhere in between. I love a good blanket with texture. I like having repeats that I can remember once I get going on a pattern but it needs to be more than a 1 or 2 row repeat. Being able to snuggle under said blanket while crocheting is a bonus. Continue below to get today's code/discount and enter to win crochet patterns. Crocheting HappinessI'm willing to bet that you're like me when it comes to crochet. It's my happy place. It brings me peace of mind and I find so much happiness in creating something through crochet for my friends and family. It's a great accomplishment to make something handmade and see the smile on their face and know that they will love and appreciate that work for years to come.
Quick crochet gifts to spread the gift of handmade
Everyone needs a great selection of quick gift crochet patterns! Simple projects to work up for craft fairs or to keep a stash on hand for friend gifts. Today, I decided to offer my full Boot Cuff collection for this offer. They're fun to make, the patterns include multiple sizes and it's a great way to use up your yarn stash.
I know boot cuffs are one of those things that people either love or hate. I think they're fun and a great way to add a little pop of color or texture to the wardrobe. I'm going to miss wearing boots and won't be able to wear the boot cuffs this winter due to an accident I had in August. |
