Welcome to Section 6 of the Enchanted Garden Blanket CAL! I'm excited to have you here with me again and hope that you'll enjoy working this section of the blanket with me.

Section 6 will work an Arrowhead style stitch and is only 5 rounds of instructions so it should be a quick section again for most. You will want to use stitch markers for this section to make sure that you're working the post stitches in the proper place.

Enchanted Garden Blanket CAL Section 5 Free Crochet Pattern

Welcome to Section 5 of the Enchanted Garden Blanket. This part of the blanket is a REALLY simple section since we're only using the herringbone dc crochet stitch and chains for the corners. However, Please be sure to read through all the information below as the way you work the herringbone will make a difference in how this section looks when complete.

NOTE: While editing the video tutorial for this section, I realized that while working the herr dc stitch, I show yarning over and say yarning over but then switch to yarning under for the sides of the blanket. Yarning UNDER is what gives this stitch the slanted look.
The written instructions ARE correct and it really is a simple section to work.
I apologize for the mistake and have updated the video to show the way I work the stitch and also show how YO vs YU makes a difference for this stitch.

Enchanted Garden Blanket CAL Section 4 Free Crochet Pattern

It's another week and time for another section of our Enchanted Garden Blanket. This week, we will be working section 4 which is a bit larger than the first 3 sections. If you've ever worked a c2c blanket, you'll breeze right through this one. We're using the same stitch that many of you know as the c2c stitch though c2c is the process and not just one stitch. This stitch is one that I learned close to 40 years ago as the Brick Stitch (You may call it a different name and that's ok. Many stitches have several different names). We used this stitch in Section 2 but this time we'll be building on and inserting a round of increase stitches in order to build the diameter of our blanket.

For this 2nd blanket, I switched things up with color changes. Please feel free to change colors where you prefer. I explain how to do this and what to expect if you change colors on the increase rounds in the video.

Free Enchanted Garden Granny Square Blanket Crochet Pattern

If you like the look of the Enchanted Garden Blanket but need a simple project to work on the go, this one is for you! I designed the Enchanted Garden Granny Square years ago using some random yarn colors that I had in my stash. I liked the look of the square but not the colors and I just wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. That square just ended up in a "what now" pile for 9 years. I pulled it out a few months ago and decided it needed to come to life again and started designing the Enchanted Garden Blanket. It's funny how things work out with just a simple color change! Once I started working my 2nd full blanket, I knew I needed to release the Granny option too.

This is a great option for crocheting on the go, using up your yarn stash and perfect for making blankets for shelters or other service projects. I've always struggled with Granny square blankets because of the randomness of the squares and colors used. It drives me crazy having square colors not coordinate and trying to figure out which colors to stitch next to each other in hopes they'll still look semi decent.

This crochet pattern will help bring everything together nicely using a fun border around each square and then continuing that stitch pattern into the full blanket border to give it a great finished and pulled together look.

We'll start with the center diamond in Part 1, square the diamond off in Part 2 and then Part 3 will show you how to add the individual square borders, connect the squares and add the final blanket border. I'll even give you a few tips and tricks along the way to make things easier.
Each section of the written pattern is also accompanied by a full video tutorial.

This is the blocking board that I have to make sure all my squares are blocked to the same straight edges. This one has been really nice as it has a lot of pegs allowing me to stack multiple sections at a time.
I crocheted all the diamonds first and stacked them with these pegs on the board and then as I worked the next section, I would start another block of pegs for that section. This helped me keep all the pieces in 1 simple place and easily view how many more I needed to work through each step of the pattern. Click on the photo to purchase your own blocking board.

You will need around 120” yarn for each side of square connecting
Example: Connecting 4 squares together will give you 4 (inside) sides x 120” = 480” yarn (13.33 total yards)
Connecting the 5x5 Square blanket, you’ll have 16 (inside) sides to connect x 120” = 1920” yarn (53.33 total yards)

Note: I recommend working all your squares first and then connecting them in rows so it’s 1 long seamless connection instead of so many ends to weave in at the end.

Holding 2 squares together with wrong sides facing each other, begin connecting both corner ch-2’s together from right to left

Enchanted Garden Blanket Section 3

Welcome to section 3 of the Enchanted Garden Blanket crochet tutorial. I hope you're ready to add some fun texture to this blanket! This section works a really simple stitch but the stitch placement is everything. It adds a beautiful texture and honestly, I'm tempted to make a blanket using just this stitch. I really think you'll enjoy this one.

For those who are working this as the new release CAL, I apologize that this section is being released a little late. I recorded the video for this section 3 times because I kept calling out the wrong stitch and yet, on the 3rd time, I still messed up one time. If you're watching the video, on round 25, I say to work a tr in the first x stitch of that round and it should be dtr.
Please forgive me for my goofs! It's been a crazy week but I promise, the future sections are looking good!!!

Section 2 is another fast and easy crochet section as we will simply be squaring off our center diamond. It is worked using a combination of basic stitches again and should be easy for you to follow along the written instructions below.

I used 45 yards of white & 29 yards of yellow. Color changes will be noted below.

This week, we will work the center Diamond section which is a quick 15 rows of instructions. I designed the center 2 sections of this blanket years ago to release as a granny square option and just never brought myself to complete it.
It's one of those projects that was "OK" back then but was set aside in the "what do I really want to do with this" piles for better inspiration.

Now that I've had a chance to rework that square, not only did it turn into the amazing Enchanted Garden, I also have a real Granny Square blanket in the works with some slight changes. The Granny Square option will be great for those who like to have "On the go" projects that are smaller and quicker to complete.

For now though, let's get started on the CAL!

Here's what you'll need to know for Section 1:

Enchanted Garden Blanket CAL

Are you ready for another CAL?

I'm excited to see this Enchanted Garden Blanket come to life with each of you! It was such a fun blanket to design while trying to come up with different textures and stitches to create something really beautiful and unique.

7 years ago, I designed the Sunny Day Blanket and hosted a CAL on my Instagram account. The Sunny Day Blanket was by far my highest selling crochet pattern in all my shops for years...that is until last year. The release of the Secret Garden Blanket CAL hands down took the top spot in my Etsy shop. It is just amazing to me how much love these blanket patterns have received.

Understanding how much you all love this style of blanket, I decided to test my limits and see if I could come up with another one with completely different stitches than the first 2. Hopefully I've succeeded and you'll enjoy crocheting the Enchanted Garden Blanket as much as I have.

We are going to work this pattern as a CAL over a 9 week period as there are 9 basic sections in the design. This page will be the main source page so be sure to bookmark it for easy access.

Here's how it will work:

Shell Brook Square Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

Every now and then, it's nice to have a simple crochet project that you can work without giving it much thought. Something that will keep your hands crocheting while watching your favorite TV series or movie. This Shell Brook Square Blanket crochet pattern is just the one you need for those times!!

This blanket is worked in a Granny Square blanket style from the center out making it easy to work to your desired size. Whether you want a baby blanket or a king size throw, this crochet pattern leaves the final size totally in your control.

With that in mind, it also allows you to use your favorite yarn and hook size. I've worked this in Caron Simply Soft yarn and Mandala yarn but you can easily use Red Heart Super Saver or a baby yarn too.

Free Snap Dragon 18" Doll or Preemie Dress Crochet Pattern

It's finally time! This is the last doll dress in the basic doll dress collection to be updated and added to the blog. The Snap Dragon doll dress uses one of my favorite stitch combinations and has such a pretty look on the skirt.

This pattern is also considered an Easy skill level but could very well be worked by a beginner if you know how to read patterns or can learn from video tutorials (at the bottom of this post)

I named it Snap Dragon because the stitches remind me of the fun little snap dragon flowers. The V-Stitch when the flower petals are open mouth wide and the shell when the petals are mouth closed. It may be silly, I know but I just think snap dragons are a fun and cool flower to have around.
