Day 1 is all about family and friends. I feel like we're more alert to our feelings about family and friends during the holidays. Last year I wanted my family to have something special from me to have throughout the year. Life is busy for all of us and time seems to pass so fast. We can't be to every event for everyone. I know there are days where each of us struggle but we try to deal with things on our own. My option for fixing that was to handmake something for each of my siblings and my parents. I'm doing my best to support them and their kids this year but if they're ever struggling, they have something from me to remind them that I love them. You can read more about that HERE
Real friends are something to truly be thankful for. There are people who come in and out of our lives at different times and for different reasons. Some friends come and go and some are there to stay no matter how far away they are. Over the past 8 years I've been blessed to meet many wonderful people who love crochet as much as I do. Some of them live quite a distance away from me and I've never met them. Others live quite close and I've been lucky to make some time to meet them and have some good visits. Heidi from Snappy Tots lives just 20 minutes from me and I love being able to chat about the crochet world and local happenings with her. Stacy from Two Yarn Cute hasn't been in the crochet world much this past year or 2 but we still chat now and then. She was able to make a trip to Utah this past summer and though my foot was broken and life is busy, I took the time to drive to Salt Lake to meet her. It was nice to spend a few hours with her and catch up on life. Christine from Sweet Potato 3 is just in Idaho so one of these days, I hope to meet her too. Kristine from Ambassador Crochet is one of the first crochet designers I followed on Facebook and I was so excited to get to know her online. I can honestly say that Jennifer from Crochet by Jennifer is one of my best friends and we've never met. We have so much in common in our personal lives and I appreciate her advice, and open ears when I've struggled in life's adventures.
Along with my designer friends, I'm thankful for the chance I've had to get to know each of you. It's amazing to see how small the world is because of social media. It's fun to see how far away the love of crochet can connect us. Thank you for all your kind words. Thank you for commenting and interacting with me! Thank you for sharing your stories and Thank you for being you.
