Learn how to crochet the Ribbon Candy Crochet Stitch also known as the Kenitra Stitch

Picture
Video Tutorial Below
PictureBrick Stitch Blanket
For YEARS, I enjoyed making blankets with the Brick Stitch.  It's the stitch that is used in C2C crochet patterns but I used it in basic rows for blankets.  It's just a fun little mindless stitch that you can work without paying much attention to what you're doing (with the exception of  color work in C2C).  It's the main crochet stitch I used for my Diamond Christmas Tree Skirt pattern and some of my infant / toddler dresses.
THEN, I found the Kenitra crochet stitch in my  Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopedia by Robyn Chachula.  It's one of my favorite crochet stitch books!

This new version of the Brick Stitches adds a fun thin row that allows you to play with color and add some Eye catching shapes to your projects.
I began using this stitch for my Ribbon Candy Scarf crochet patterns and wanted to do something different with it.  I figured - if you use the Brick Stitch for a C2C blanket, why not use the Kenitra crochet stitch for a C2C blanket too???!!!
So, several crochet patterns were born from this fun little stitch and to help you with stitch placement, I've created a quick video for one of the scarf patterns to help you out.

This video will show you the basic stitch placement for the Kenitra crochet stitch which is used in my Ribbon Candy collection of crochet patterns.  Please note that this video is for the basic placement and because patterns are worked differently (C2C, rows, rounds) you'll need to follow each individual pattern for best results.
The following patterns use this stitch:
Ribbon Candy Doll Dress
Ribbon Candy Infant Dress
Ribbon Candy Cowl
Ribbon Candy Scarf
Ribbon Candy Blanket
And a new design is in the works using this stitch that will have a little twist to the instructions for some extra fun!  Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube or Subscribe to my email list (top right of this page) so you can keep up with all the new crochet patterns, crochet tutorial, tips and tricks!
Happy Crocheting my Friends!

I'm Kate and crochet is my passion.  I've been crocheting for 30+ years and as you can see from the selection of designs on my site, blankets are my obsession.  I absolutely love creating something that will wrap my love around friends and family when they're in need of comfort.
Having 4 beautiful girls of my own has also inspired many infant, toddler and child size dresses.  They are my biggest cheerleaders and have enjoyed wearing the things I've made them.
