Have you ever wondered what to get someone as a wedding gift that they won't receive 5 of the same?  Birthdays, Baby Showers, Christmas...does anyone really "need" anything any more?  It seems like it's getting harder and harder to find gifts of value instead of just throwing $$$ at things just to "give".
As I watched each of my sisters and my brother get married over the years, it was always interesting to see what gifts they would receive multiples of.  I like being different and I LOVE giving something that I've created to people I love!
Since the age of 10, I've made more than 100 afghans and while I haven't counted them up in a few years, I'm probably near the 200 mark by now.  Afghans are my passion!  There is just something about crocheting one and knowing that the receiver will be able to stay warm and hopefully wrap up in it's comfort if needed.  Each of my family members has received a blanket I've crocheted over the years and many of them have been outgrown or worn out.  I love it!  I love that they appreciate what I do and will use them.  

Last year when my nephew announced his engagement, I wanted to give them something made with love that would be unique and could be used.  That's when I  designed the Braided Cable Block Collection.  They loved it and I loved giving it to them and I'm hoping to continue this as a tradition in my family.   ​I have another nephew and a niece who are both getting married this summer and I have something in the works for Christmas already so I have my work cut out for me!

So, here is what you need to know about the Cabled Zig Zag Home Decor Collection Crochet Patterns...
While the crochet skill level for this set is considered Intermediate because of the cables, I've included MANY stitch placement photos to help along the way.  I've also created 2 video tutorials available HERE on my blog for those who learn better through video.

Cabled Zig Zag Bolster Pillow Crochet Pattern

 The Cabled Zig Zag Bolster Pillow crochet pattern is worked from side to side and includes options for the Candy Wrapper end style shown here OR a closed end style.  This is a fun pillow to to work using a different color on each end than in the middle too!  The Candy Wrapper option allows you to easily remove the cover for washing or maybe you just want to switch out colors for different seasons or holidays. Instructions to crochet your own pillow form are also included.

Cabled Zig Zag Square Pillow Crochet Pattern

 The Cabled Zig Zag Square Pillow crochet pattern is worked from the bottom up all in 1 piece and uses 3 buttons to close the flap.  You'll be able to remove the pillow for easy washing and simply place it back in the cover when ready.  This crochet pattern also includes instructions to make your own pillow form if you don't want to go purchase one.

The Cabled Zig Zag Rectangle Pillow crochet pattern is worked from side to side and then the flap is worked also adding 3 buttons to hold the flap closed.  This pattern includes instructions for making your own pillow form also if you choose to make your own.
