HDC Foundation Chain Video Tutorial

A few years ago I learned how to work foundation chains and it changed my life (and designing) forever.  Foundation chains are so much easier to work, give a wonderful stretch and consistency to the beginning of projects and look nice and tidy.

I created some photo tutorials which are available to view below along with the video tutorial

Most of my designs use the hdc foundation chain though I will use the sc and dc foundation chains now and then.  Knowing that many of you learn well from videos, I've created a video tutorial to show how I work the foundation chains.  I hope this will help those who have questions or just haven't brought themselves to learn the technique yet.
Once you learn and get used to working them, you'll not want to use a basic starting chain again!

Thank you so much. I knew many people use this method and see many patterns with it as an option, I just did realize how much better it can make beginning a project. I always dread that looooong chain the other way, so this is exciting! Thank you!

Hey there!  Thank you for joining my blog here at Crafting Friends Designs. Grab your hook, some yarn and get comfy as we crochet some fun, unique and beautiful projects together.
I'm Kate and crochet is my passion.  I've been crocheting for 30+ years and as you can see from the selection of designs on my site, blankets are my obsession.  I absolutely love creating something that will wrap my love around friends and family when they're in need of comfort.
Having 4 beautiful girls of my own has also inspired many infant, toddler and child size dresses.  They are my biggest cheerleaders and have enjoyed wearing the things I've made them.
