Create your own little collection of flowers with this Shell Brook Flower crochet pattern. This quick and easy flower pattern uses 13.5 yards of yarn which is great for using up that scrap yarn you've been saving! It's a simple combination of crochet stitches and easy to work on the go.

Here's what you'll need to know:


Materials: 13.5 yards Caron Simply Soft or similar 4ww yarn  

Hook: Size I 5.25mm                                                                        

Gauge: 14 hdc & 13 rows = 4”                           

Finished Size: 3.5” diameter                                              

Skill Level: Easy                                                                                                                   

US Crochet Terms

Stitch Abbreviations: 

       st(s) – stitch(es)     

       ch – chain 

       sl st – slip stitch 

       yo - yarn over

       sc - single crochet

       hdc – half double crochet

       dc – double crochet

Special Stitches:

Cluster – (yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook) 5x, yo, pull through all 6 loops on hook 


Spike dc – yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a loop to the height of the working round and complete the dc.  Make sure not to tighten the tension on this step or it will bunch the petal


Notes: 

  1. Leave a tail long enough at the beginning or end of the flower to allow for sewing your flower to your project
  2. For color changes as shown in photo, work rounds 1-2 the same color and rounds 3-4 a different color
