Crochet Pattern, 18" Shell Brook Doll Dress
Have fun crocheting your little girls some dresses for their 18" Dolls with the Shell Brook crochet pattern. This dress works up quickly and is a great crochet project for using up your scrap yarn! It is worked from the neck down and can be made as short or long as you'd like.
Skill level is Easy but a beginner could make one if you know how to read patterns and work the basic sc, hdc and dc stitches.

Here's a short list of what you'll need to know to work this pattern:
Materials: 160 yards 4ww yarn such as Caron Simply Soft or Loops & Threads Impeccable
30” Ribbon (¼” - ⅜” width)
½” - ⅝” Button
Hook: G-6 4.25mm & H-8 5.00mm
Gauge: With H hook 15 hdc & 11 rows = 4”
Finished Size: 18” Generic doll, American Girl sized doll or Preemie Infant

Stitch Abbreviations:
st(s) – stitch(es)
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
yo - yarn over
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
Special Stitches:

V Stitch: (hdc, ch 2, hdc) in indicated stitch
7 Shell - 7 dc in indicated stitch
Notes:
- Beginning ch-2 is not counted as a stitch unless otherwise indicated
- Photos showing stitch placement are on the last page of pattern and are referenced as P1, P2, P3 etc.
- When changing colors, do so in the last step of the last stitch of the row before the color change
- This pattern is worked from the neck down
- If you prefer to start with a basic chain, chain 37, turn, hdc in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across for a total of 36 hdc
