The Diagonal Dip Kitchen Towel Top is another fun crochet pattern to add to your collection! This is a quick and easy project to work up for friends and neighbor gifts. They’re also great to have a bunch on hand for yourself!

Skill Level: Easy


Materials: 63 yards Vanna’s Choice 4ww yarn or similar 

1 stitch marker or safety pin 

1” Button or barrell button 

Kitchen Towel 

Sewing machine or needle and thread to hem towel


Finished Size: 9” at widest section, 13 ½” height (9” height when buttoned)


Hook: sizes D & H


Gauge:(H hook) 14 hdc & 11 rows = 4”


Stitches/Abbreviations: 

st(s) - stitch(es), sl st - slip stitch, ch - chain, yo - yarn over, sc - single crochet, hdc - half double crochet, dc - double crochet, tr - treble crochet


Special Stitches: 

Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc): Yo, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated 

stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through remaining 2 loops on hook


Half Double Crochet 2 Together (hdc2tog): Yo, insert hook in next indicated stitch, yo, pull up a loop2x, yo and pull through all 5 loops on hook


Note: This design uses standing stitches to begin rows unless otherwise stated. If you are unfamiliar with how to begin a row with standing stitches, you can use the following: ch 1, turn, sc in very first st; ch 2 and skip very first st to be counted as a hdc; ch 3 and skip very first st to be counted as a dc.
