2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Butter 1/4 tsp Salt 1 1/2 Cup White Karo Syrup 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk 3/4 tsp Licorice Oil 3/4 tsp food color if desired Add all ingredients Except licorice oil & color to large heavy pot (I use my pressure cooker pot) Cook on low to medium heat stirring constantly until it reaches Firm Ball (230*) This can scorch easily so constant stirring is important. I use the water test as it's more accurate than candy thermometers Once at Firm Ball, remove from heat and add Licorice oil & food coloring if desired Quickly stir to blend color and oil well and pour into buttered 8x8 pan (I actually use a 1/2 cooking sheet so it's not as thick) Let cool then cut into squares and wrap in wax paper. I've also used 1/2 tsp cherry oil with 1/2 tsp licorice oil for Red licorice flavor Butter Rum and Butter Scotch oils are also amazing!

AboutThe following are recipes that we use often. I don't want to create a food blog with a lot of photos. The purpose is simply to have easy online access to recipes we use in 1 place in case friends or family ask how to make something or we're shopping and need to verify ingredients. There are some recipes that are not complete with measurements as we tend to use the "little of this and a dash of that" method of cooking on a lot of foods. ArchivesCategories
