Stand Out Cable Video Tutorial

1/22/2019

Sometimes it's fun to have a crochet cable texture that is quick and easy to work.  The Stand Out Cable crochet stitch is just that!  This stitch creates a rope-like look on crochet projects without the fuss of crossing a bunch of stitches.
The Stand Out Cable stitch is used in the Stand Out Cable Chevron Afghan crochet pattern and also the Cabled Blooms Blanket crochet pattern.
Video tutorials below show the basic stitch placement for this stitch.  When using the stitch, be sure to read the individual crochet patterns carefully for possible adjustments.

Ideal for layering, this openwork top is made using 404 (505, 707, 909, 1111) yds of #3 DK-weight yarn and a size G/6/4mm crochet hook. Sizes: S (M, L, XL, 2XL). This was originally published in Boutique-Style Crochet! April 2018.

Once you've mastered the base rows of the Stand Out Cable crochet stitch, you can move on to the fun part of continuing the cable.  It's a fun stitch to work and watch it grow throughout the project!
And now that you know how to work the basic Stand Out Cable stitch, how about some fun crochet projects to put it to use?

Hey there!  Thank you for joining my blog here at Crafting Friends Designs. Grab your hook, some yarn and get comfy as we crochet some fun, unique and beautiful projects together.
I'm Kate and crochet is my passion.  I've been crocheting for 30+ years and as you can see from the selection of designs on my site, blankets are my obsession.  I absolutely love creating something that will wrap my love around friends and family when they're in need of comfort.
Having 4 beautiful girls of my own has also inspired many infant, toddler and child size dresses.  They are my biggest cheerleaders and have enjoyed wearing the things I've made them.
