Secret Garden Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

Secret Garden Blanket CAL begins Thursday May 29, 2025

Life is busy, and sometimes we don't have time to crochet as much as our hearts are telling us to. I know having 3 teenagers has definitely thrown me for a loop when I would love to relax and crochet.  However, I know that I won't have my girls at home for much longer, so I'll appreciate every moment I have with them while I can!
A few weeks ago, I asked email subscribers if this pattern should be released ASAP so you can work it at your own pace or if you wanted a CAL.  The majority wanted it released now but there were a lot who wanted to do a CAL.

So, I've decided to do both!
Here's what you need to know...
First, I really want to do this CAL through video.  There are 11 sections with different stitches and a total of 63 rounds.  Some sections will be easy to combine into 1 video tutorial and others may take 2 or 3 videos to explain.

I will post 1 Section every Thursday for 11 weeks here on my blog for you to follow along.  The video tutorials will be hosted on my YouTube channel so if you're a YouTube fan, you can subscribe to my channel HERE and get notified with each video release.

Continue below to see what supplies you'll need to get started
For those who would like to work the pattern at their own pace, you can purchase the Pre-Release PDF below.
The Pre-Release pdf is just a basic pdf for the moment so if you have any questions when working it, please let me know so I can help you out quickly.
There is 1 question from a tester on one of the end rounds that I want to double check as I work through my 3rd blanket.  Please be aware that if you purchase the pattern now, Rounds 56 - 63 may end up being adjusted slightly for the final pattern.
Once I have all the links to the video tutorials, I will update the final pdf and send it out through Ravelry to everyone who has purchased it.

This PDF is a Pre-Release version of the Secret Garden Blanket.

This pattern will be worked as a CAL through August 7th for free on my blog.

All PDF purchases will be sent through Ravelry to the email used for the purchase. Once I have all the video links to update the pdf, I will finalize the pattern and send an update through Ravelry so you have the complete pattern.

If you have any questions while working this pattern during the CAL, please feel free to email me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to help.

    Kate Wagstaff

Hey there!  Thank you for joining my blog here at Crafting Friends Designs. Grab your hook, some yarn and get comfy as we crochet some fun, unique and beautiful projects together.
I'm Kate and crochet is my passion.  I've been crocheting for 30+ years and as you can see from the selection of designs on my site, blankets are my obsession.  I absolutely love creating something that will wrap my love around friends and family when they're in need of comfort.
Having 4 beautiful girls of my own has also inspired many infant, toddler and child size dresses.  They are my biggest cheerleaders and have enjoyed wearing the things I've made them.

If you love what you see, please leave a comment and let me know!
