Welcome back to the Secret Garden Blanket CAL! This week is going to be really quick and easy.

We are simply going to work rounds 7 & 8 this week which will allow those who joined a little late to catch up. It is the simple white section around the center yellow circle. This section helps to square off the blanket so it's crucial to get this one set up properly but also very easy to work.

I chose to change colors at the beginning of round 7 since the stitch pattern changes and I wanted the center to POP. The great thing about crochet is that you get to do you! You get to choose whether you change colors here or not.

Stitch Abbreviations:
       st(s) – stitch(es)
       ch – chain
       sl st – slip stitch
       sc - single crochet
       hdc - half double crochet
       dc - double crochet
       tr - treble

With White
Round 7: (RS) Continue with right side facing, attach yarn with a sl st to beginning sc of round 6 *ch 2, skip next Petal st, 3 sc in next sc, ch 2 (this will be a corner), 3 sc in next st, ch 2, skip next Petal st, 2 sc in next two sts, ch 2, skip next Petal st, sc in next 2 sts, ch 2, skip next Petal st, 2 sc in next two sts,* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning ch-2 to connect (64 sc, 20 ch-2’s)
Note: As you work this round, make sure to push the Petal sts towards you so they show on the right side

Round 8: (RS) Ch 4 (counts as tr), 3 tr around same ch-2, *(4 tr, ch 2, 4 tr) around corner ch-2, 4 tr around next ch-2, 4 dc around next two ch-2's, 4 tr around next ch-2,* repeat from *to* 2x, (4 tr, ch 2, 4 tr) around corner ch-2, 4 tr around next ch-2, 4 dc around next two ch-2's, sl st to top of beginning ch-4 to connect (96 sts)
Fasten off White (8.5” wide)
