We are working rounds 42-45 of the Secret Garden Blanket crochet pattern this week. It seems like it would be a small section of the CAL with just 4 rounds but we're working some taller stitches to give this a fun X stitch across the blanket. We'll be working "In Front of" and "Behind" stitches so be sure to watch the written instructions so your pattern shows through properly. If you're just finding this pattern and would like to crochet your own Secret Garden Blanket, click the "Start Here" button below to jump to the beginning post where you'll find all the details and quick links to each section. **This post may contain affiliate links through which I may receive a small commission for purchases made at no extra cost to you** US Crochet Terms Stitch Abbreviations: st(s) – stitch(es) ch – chain sl st – slip stitch sc - single crochet hdc - half double crochet dc - double crochet tr - treble dtr - double treble With White - Green - Yellow (250 yards needed for Rounds 42-45) Round 42: (RS) With right side facing, attach yarn with a sl st to second sc to the left of any corner ch-2, ch 4 (counts as dtr), dtr in next st, working behind previous two sts, dtr back around corner ch-2 and in first skipped st, *[skip next 2 available sts, dtr in next two sts, working in front of previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, skip next 2 available sts, dtr in next two sts, working behind previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts]14x, ch 3, skip corner ch-2 and next st, dtr in next 2 sts, working in front of previous two sts, dtr back around corner ch-2 and in first skipped st, [skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working behind previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working in front of previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts]14x, ch 3,* skip corner ch-2 and next st, dtr in next two sts, working behind previous two sts, dtr back around corner ch-2 and in first skipped st, repeat from *to* 1x, sl st to top of beginning ch-4 to connect *Note: When working in the skipped stitches, work the furthest skipped stitch first* Round 43: (WS) Turn, ch 1, *(4 hdc, ch 2, 4 hdc) around corner ch-3, hdc in each st across to next corner (116 hdc),* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning hdc to connect (496 hdc) Round 44: (RS) Turn, sl st in first three sts, ch 4 (counts as dtr), dtr in next st, working in front of previous two sts, dtr in two sts slip stitched in, *skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working behind previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working in front of previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts* repeat from *to* 13x, skip next two sts, dtr in next two sts, working behind previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, ch 2, skip corner ch-2, skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working in front of previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, repeat from *to* 15x, ch 2, skip corner ch-2, repeat from *to* 15x, skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working behind previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, ch 2, skip corner ch-2, skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working in front of previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, repeat from *to* 15x, ch 2, skip corner ch-2, skip next two available sts, dtr in next two sts, working behind previous two sts, dtr in skipped sts, sl st to top of beginning ch-4 to connect Round 45: (WS) Turn, ch 1, hdc in same st as sl st and in next 4 sts, *(2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) around corner ch-2, hdc in each st across to next corner (124 hdc),* repeat from *to* 2x, (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) around corner ch-2, hdc in next 119 sts, sl st to beginning hdc to connect (512 hdc) Fasten off white (38.5” wide) And there you have it!
