Secret Garden Blanket Crochet Pattern Rounds 19-23

We are 1/2 way through our CAL!  I know the thought of crocheting a blanket is overwhelming for some of our crochet friends.  I think you've done a fantastic job on this one so give yourself a high five or pat on the back!  It helps to take it one section at a time so you can tackle small amounts through each week instead of feeling pressured to finish it all at once.

For Rounds 19-23, we're keeping it basic by using a Herringbone Half Double Crochet stich.  This is the solid pink section above our flower section in the photo above.  Because of the slight slant that this stitch offers, it is more appealing to the eye than the basic hdc and it's fun to work.
While it is a basic crochet stitch, it is critical that you make sure your stitch counts are accurate at the end of each round in order to set yourself up for success in the next section.
Stitch Abbreviations:
       st(s) – stitch(es)
       ch – chain
       sl st – slip stitch
       hdc - half double crochet

RS - Right Side
WS - Wrong Side

Hey there!  Thank you for joining my blog here at Crafting Friends Designs. Grab your hook, some yarn and get comfy as we crochet some fun, unique and beautiful projects together.
I'm Kate and crochet is my passion.  I've been crocheting for 30+ years and as you can see from the selection of designs on my site, blankets are my obsession.  I absolutely love creating something that will wrap my love around friends and family when they're in need of comfort.
Having 4 beautiful girls of my own has also inspired many infant, toddler and child size dresses.  They are my biggest cheerleaders and have enjoyed wearing the things I've made them.

If you love what you see, please leave a comment and let me know!
