Royal Christmas Tree Skirt Crochet Stitch Placement Video Tutorials

It's that time of year again when we start working on all our Christmas crochet projects. I just LOVE being able to personalize our holiday decorations!  The Christmas tree skirt is absolutely my favorite thing to crochet to make our home decor unique throughout the Christmas season.  Being able to create something fun in the colors that we enjoy and not having the same plain tree skirts that everyone has is such a joyful feeling.
The Royal Christmas Tree Skirt is definitely a labor of love with all that amazing texture but  seriously...the feeling of accomplishment you feel when it's finally wrapped around that beautiful tree  - You just can't beat that!!!
This crochet pattern is mor of an advanced skill level based on the amount of texture that is worked into it.  However, once you understand the stitch placement, it's a breeze.  To help clear up any questions you may have while working it or maybe you've seen this skirt and want to try crocheting one yourself but you're hesitant because of the texture, I've put together some crochet stitch tutorials of the more difficult stitches to help you feel at ease.
So, let's start with Row 3
Row 3 creates the V  using post stitches which will be the start of our Diamond shape in the center of the tree skirt.  This is also worked as an increase row so there are extra stitches added.  Be sure to read the directions in the pattern so you can make sure you have the correct count at the end of the row.
Row 5 is a simple row to work using Front post double crochet and half double crochet stitches.  This is not an increase row so make sure you skip the stitches as indicated in the pattern and have the correct total of stitches at the end of the row.
Row 7 uses a Front post treble crochet so as you're working this row, make sure you're using the correct stitch so that you have the proper height.  There's nothing worse than working tight post stitches and your crochet project puckering because it's to tight.  This row also crosses post stitches in order to start closing off our Diamond shape so pay attention to which stitches you're using.
Row 9 closes off the Diamond shape.  Be mindful of which post stitch you're using 2 rows below.  This row also introduces working 2 stitches together.  Once you get the hang of this stitch, you'll enjoy using it on other projects to hid the hole that post stitches usually give.
Row 11 is also a pretty simple row to work.  The simple reason for this video is to show how the Bobble stitch is worked around the post of a stitch rather than in the top.
I hope this helps bring you confidence in crocheting your own Royal Christmas Tree Skirt to brighten your home for the holidays!

As always, if you have any questions, I'm happy to help.  You can always email me at [email protected]

Hey there!  Thank you for joining my blog here at Crafting Friends Designs. Grab your hook, some yarn and get comfy as we crochet some fun, unique and beautiful projects together.
I'm Kate and crochet is my passion.  I've been crocheting for 30+ years and as you can see from the selection of designs on my site, blankets are my obsession.  I absolutely love creating something that will wrap my love around friends and family when they're in need of comfort.
Having 4 beautiful girls of my own has also inspired many infant, toddler and child size dresses.  They are my biggest cheerleaders and have enjoyed wearing the things I've made them.
