Enchanted Garden Blanket CAL

Are you ready for another CAL?

I'm excited to see this Enchanted Garden Blanket come to life with each of you!  It was such a fun blanket to design while trying to come up with different textures and stitches to create something really beautiful and unique. 

7 years ago, I designed the Sunny Day Blanket and hosted a CAL on my Instagram account.  The Sunny Day Blanket was by far my highest selling crochet pattern in all my shops for years...that is until last year.  The release of the Secret Garden Blanket CAL hands down took the top spot in my Etsy shop.   It is just amazing to me how much love these blanket patterns have received.​

Understanding how much you all love this style of blanket, I decided to test my limits and see if I could come up with another one with completely different stitches than the first 2.  Hopefully I've succeeded and you'll enjoy crocheting the Enchanted Garden Blanket as much as I have.  

We are going to work this pattern as a CAL over a 9 week period as there are 9 basic sections in the design.  This page will be the main source page so be sure to bookmark it for easy access.

Beginning July 2nd, I will release 1 section of the blanket to view for free here on my blog - written pattern & full video tutorial.  Thursday is the drop day for each new section in hopes that this will be on your mind and give you extra time to spend on the weekends with your yarn.

On THIS post, I will have a quick link below for you to click to jump to each section as they are released.  This way, if you fall behind slightly, you'll have 1 spot to find the section you need. No tricks & no hoops to jump through!!  Just pure, delightful crochet time.

Here's what you'll need:

Materials: 2673 yards 4ww yarn such as Loops & Threads Impeccable (baby yarn would also work also but would give a smaller finished size blanket)

4 stitch markers

I also recommend blocking mats to perfectly shape your blanket when complete.  This isn't a "must" but does make it look really nice

Hook: Size I 5.25mm  (I understand that some I hooks are 5.50mm which will also work)                                                                          
Gauge: Checkpoints given throughout                                   
Finished Size: 56” x 56”

Stitch Abbreviations: 
       st(s) – stitch(es)         
       ch – chain 
       sl st – slip stitch 
       yo - yarn over
       sc - single crochet
       hdc – half double crochet
       dc – double crochet
       tr - treble crochet

Special Stitches:
hdc2tog - half double crochet 2 together: [yo, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up a loop]2x, yo, pull through all 5 loops on hook

hdc3tog - half double crochet 3 together: [yo, insert hook in next st, yo, pull up a loop]3x, yo, pull through all 7 loops on hook 

BrSt - Brick Stitch: (sc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated stitch

fptr - Front Post treble crochet: Yo 2x, insert hook from front to back to front around indicated st, yo, pull up a loop, (yo, pull through 2 loops on hook)3x

bptr - Back Post treble crochet: Yo 2x, insert hook from back to front to back around indicated st, yo, pull up a loop, (yo, pull through 2 loops on hook)3x

dtr - double treble: Yo 3x, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a loop, (yo, pull through 2 loops on hook)4x

trtr - triple treble crochet: Yo 4x, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a loop, (yo, pull through 2 loops on hook)5x

herr dc - Herringbone double crochet: Yo, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a loop and first loop on hook, yo, pull through one loop on hook, yo, pull through both loops on hook

Popcorn St: 5 dc in indicated st, drop loop from hook, insert hook from front to back in loop of previous st, pick up dropped loop on hook and draw through stitch, lengthen loop long enough to work in on the next round

Notes: 

1. Place stitch markers around corner stitches as noted throughout to help keep track of corners
2. This blanket will need to be blocked
3. Instructions with *to* are to be worked once and then repeated the number of times indicated
4. Instructions with [..] are only worked the number of times indicated to the right of the bracket
