Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the quick Section 1 crochet time last week for the Enchanted Garden Blanket. Section 2 is another fast and easy crochet section as we will simply be squaring off our center diamond. It is worked using a combination of basic stitches again and should be easy for you to follow along the written instructions below. If you've already worked Section 1, here is what you'll need for Section 2 of the Enchanted Garden Blanket: 74 total yards of yarn I used 45 yards of white & 29 yards of yellow. Color changes will be noted below. **This post may contain Affiliate links through which I may receive a small commission for purchases made at no extra cost to you** Stitch Abbreviations: st(s) – stitch(es) ch – chain sl st – slip stitch yo - yarn over sc - single crochet hdc – half double crochet dc – double crochet tr - treble crochet Special Stitches: BrSt - Brick Stitch: (sc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated stitch Notes:
With White (9 yards) Round 16: With wrong side facing, attach yarn to center sc of any corner (middle of 3 sc) with a sl st, sl st in next st, ch 1, *hdc in next st, dc in next 2 sts, 3 tr in next st, ch 2, 3 tr in next st, dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next 3 sts,* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning hdc to connect, fasten off **Note: it is important to make sure you begin in the center stitch of the corner. If you’re off even a stitch, your diamond will look slanted** Gauge: 6”x6” With Yellow (29 yards) Round 17: With right side facing, attach yarn with a sl st around any corner ch-2, ch 2 (counts as dc) (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) around same corner ch-2, *dc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) around corner ch-2,* repeat from *to* 2x, dc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in end 3 sts, sl st to top of beginning ch-2 to connect Round 18: Sl st in next 2 sts, turn, ch 1, BrSt in same st as ch-1, skip next 2 sts, [BrSt in next st, skip next 2 sts]6x, *(sc, ch 2, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) around corner ch-2, [BrSt in next st, skip next 2 sts]7x,* repeat from*to* 2x, (sc, ch 2, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) around corner ch-2, sl st to beginning ch-1 to connect, fasten off With White (36 yards) Round 19: With right side facing, attach yarn with a sl st around any corner ch-2, ch 1, *(2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) around corner ch-2, [working over sts of previous round, dc in skipped 2 sts two rounds below, sc around ch-2 of next BrSt]7x,* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning sc to connect Round 20: Sl st in next st, turn, ch 1, *hdc in next 25 sts, (hdc, ch 2, hdc) around corner ch-2,* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning hdc to connect Round 21: Turn, sl st in end st, ch 1, *(2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) around corner ch-2, hdc in next 27 sts,* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning hdc to connect, fasten off Gauge: 9.5”x9.5” The full video tutorial is available below.
