Enchanted Garden Blanket CAL Section 4 Free Crochet Pattern

It's another week and time for another section of our Enchanted Garden Blanket.  This week, we will be working section 4 which is a bit larger than the first 3 sections.  If you've ever worked a c2c blanket, you'll breeze right through this one.  We're using the same stitch that many of you know as the c2c stitch though c2c is the process and not just one stitch. This stitch is one that I learned close to 40 years ago as the Brick Stitch (You may call it a different name and that's ok.  Many stitches have several different names).  We used this stitch in Section 2 but this time we'll be building on and inserting a round of increase stitches in order to build the diameter of our blanket.

Here is what you'll need for Section 4: 
501 yards 4ww yarn total

I used - 75 yards White for rounds 26-27
             190 yards Apricot for rounds 28-32
             236 yards White for rounds 33-38

For this 2nd blanket, I switched things up with color changes.  Please feel free to change colors where you prefer.  I explain how to do this and what to expect if you change colors on the increase rounds in the video.

Stitch Abbreviations: 
       st(s) – stitch(es)         
       ch – chain 
       sl st – slip stitch 
       yo - yarn over
       sc - single crochet
       hdc – half double crochet
       dc – double crochet
       tr - treble crochet

Special Stitch:
BrSt - Brick Stitch: (sc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated stitch

Notes: 

1. Place stitch markers around corner stitches as noted throughout to help keep track of corners
2. This blanket will need to be blocked
3. Instructions with *to* are to be worked once and then repeated the number of times indicated
4. Instructions with [..] are only worked the number of times indicated to the right of the bracket​
5. Section 4 will ruffle but don't get to concerned.  It will flatten out as we work more rounds and blocking the full blanket will help.
   

With White  (75 yards)
Round 26: With wrong side facing, attach yarn with a sl st around any corner ch-2, ch 1, BrSt around same corner ch-2, *[BrSt in next st, skip next 2 sts]15x, skip end st, BrSt around corner ch-2,* repeat from *to* 2x, [BrSt in next st, skip next 2 sts]15x, skip end st, sl st to beginning ch-1 to connect

Round 27: Turn, ch 3, [BrSt around next ch-2]64x, sl st to top of beginning ch-3 to connect, fasten off

With Apricot  (190 yards)
Round 28: With wrong side facing, attach yarn with a sl st around same st as sl st, ch 3, [BrSt around next ch-2]64x, sl st to top of beginning ch-3 to connect

**Note: This section will seem to ruffle but it will flatten out with the next section of different stitches.  It will also look best if blocked when blanket is completed.**

Round 29: Turn, ch 3, [BrSt around next ch-2]64x, sl st to top of beginning ch-3 to connect

Round 30: Turn, ch 3, sc around ch-2 of next BrSt, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next sc (this is your corner), [sc around ch-2 of next BrSt, 3 dc in next sc]15x,sc around ch-2 of next BrSt,* repeat from *to* 2x, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next sc (this is your corner, place a stitch marker around ch-2), [sc around ch-2 of next BrSt, 3 dc in next sc]15x, sl st to top of beginning sc to connect and in next 3 sts

Round 31: Turn, ch 1, *[BrSt in next st, skip next 2 sts]22x, skip end st, BrSt around corner ch-2,* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning ch-1 to connect
(92 BrSt) 

Round 32: Turn, ch 3, [BrSt around next ch-2]92x, sl st to top of beginning ch-3 to connect, fasten off and attach next color in top of same ch-3

Gauge: 22.5”x22.5”

With White (236 yards)
Rounds 33-35: Turn, ch 3, [BrSt around next ch-2]92x, sl st to top of beginning ch-3 to connect 

Round 36: Turn, ch 6 (counts as tr, ch-2), tr in same space as sl st, place a stitch marker around the ch-5, it will be your corner), [sc around ch-2 of next BrSt, 2 dc in sc of same BrSt]22x, *sc around ch-2 of next BrSt, (tr, ch 2, tr) in sc of same BrSt, [sc around ch-2 of next BrSt, 2 dc in sc of same BrSt]22x,* repeat from *to* 2x, sc around ch-2 of next BrSt, sl st to 4th chain of beginning ch-6 to connect

Round 37: Turn, ch 1, *hdc in next 10 sts, sc in next 49 sts, hdc in next 10 sts, (2 dc, tr, ch 2, tr, 2 dc) around corner ch-2,* repeat from *to* 3x, sl st to beginning hdc to connect

Round 38: Turn, sl st in end three sts and around corner ch-2, (ch 2, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) around corner ch-2, *hdc in next 10 sts, sc in next 55 sts, hdc in next 10 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) around corner ch-2,* repeat from *to* 2x, hdc in next 10 sts, sc in next 55 sts, hdc in end 10 sts, sl st to top of beginning ch-2 to connect, fasten off
